About British White Cattle

Beautiful cattle with distinctive white coats and black markings.

The British White Breed

As the name suggests, the British White originated in Britain at Whalley Abbey, mid-Lancashire. They were first imported to Australia by a Mrs Anthony Hordern in 1958, and the breed has since spread throughout Australia.

These polled cattle are distinctly marked with their white coats and black points.

They are a dual purpose breed, used for both their milking ability and high quality beef. These days, the breed focuses on beef production, but their milking ability combined with their mothering skills ensures that calves thrive.
